Consult With Dr. Hernandez-Gil About Crowns Today
Dr. Hernandez-Gil welcomes everyone to his office, and has always been a compassionate dentist who places the needs of his patients first.
We prioritize the patient experience and offer sedation dentistry for your comfort. We work with Elite Anesthesia, a company that sends us a nurse anesthetist to administer sedation in the utmost safety.
We strive to create a comfortable environment for all. Our service dog Payson helps put anxious patients at ease by greeting them as soon as they step through our doors. If you are in need of a crown or other dental treatment, we look forward to helping you.

“I have a new
lease on life.”
“Love this place. I came over multiple times from Oregon to have my mouth corrected and have implants. My teeth and implants are now wonderful and I feel like I have a new lease on life. It is amazing how much better you feel when your teeth are correct. Again. I would strongly recommend this office to anyone.” -Paul Bodeving
Quality Care Made Affordable
At Taylorsville Implant Center, we charge $1,300 for a single crown. Most insurance plans will contribute to that cost, and we will work directly with your provider to help you get maximum reimbursement. We also work with CareCredit®, a third-party lender offering low-interest and interest-free credit lines. Our friendly team is here to assist with billing and insurance questions, and will help you maximize your coverage.
What to Expect
The crown process takes at least two appointments. During these appointments, Dr. Hernandez-Gil will prepare your tooth and place your final restoration.
Complete
Your Smile
With an Implant-Supported Crown
While a traditional crown can reinforce the structure of an existing damaged tooth, Dr. Hernandez-Gil also offers implant-supported crowns to completely replace a missing tooth.
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made of titanium. Once Dr. Hernandez-Gil places an implant, it integrates with the bone tissue and becomes part of your anatomy. Then, a custom crown can be placed to fill the gap in your smile.
Dr. Hernandez-Gil specializes in dental implants and can perform every step of your surgery at our Salt Lake City office. When cared for properly, implant-supported crowns can be a long-lasting solution — the crown can last for 10-15 years, and the implant could last the rest of your life. Treatment for a single tooth starts at $4,500.

FAQ About Dental Crowns
Am I a candidate for a dental crown?
Candidates for dental crowns include patients who have a damaged tooth, a severely decayed tooth, or an infected tooth that has undergone root canal treatment. Dr. Hernandez-Gil will perform a thorough evaluation to determine if you’re a good candidate for a traditional crown or if another solution, like a dental bridge or implant-supported crown, would be a better solution for you.
How do I care for my crown?
You can care for your traditional or implant-supported crown much like you care for your natural teeth: Brush your teeth twice a day, floss once a day, and use mouthwash as needed. Don’t use your teeth as tools to open packages, and avoid chewing hard or sticky foods with your crown, as this could damage it or pull it out of place. With proper care, your crown can last for 10-15 years or longer.
What’s the best type of crown?
The best type of crown material will depend on your goals and preferences, and Dr. Hernandez-Gil will explain your options. Patients who desire a natural look may prefer a porcelain or zirconia crown. Patients who want a longer-lasting option may opt for gold.
Do you offer same-day crowns?
No. Same-day dental crowns from milling machines often sacrifice quality, and Dr. Hernandez-Gil doesn’t cut corners. His goal is to deliver a quality, lasting solution the first time. While he doesn’t offer same-day crowns, he’ll place a temporary crown on the day of your procedure so you can leave our Salt Lake City office with a functional and comfortable bite until your final restoration is ready.
